One of the most anticipated Southern African Safari destinations in a long time is set to launch towards the end of 2016. Miavana, Nosy Ankao, promises to deliver a luxury vacation full of surprises and delights, with the emphasis on discovering the countless natural treasures of this beautiful, five-island archipelago.

Found within the northern waters off the shores of Madagascar, in a 15,000 hectare protected marine area, Miavana is an ecotourism dream come true. Here, guests are invited to celebrate the magnificence of this private unspoiled paradise on ‘Blue Safari’ guided excursions into the depths of the warm ocean, and among bays, lagoons and channels.  On land, white sand beaches and lush forests filled with birds and wildlife beckon to the adventurous traveller.

Some of the planned activities include guided walks into the hinterland in search of extraordinary indigenous creatures, jet skis, helicopter flips, whale-watching, fly- and deep-sea fishing. Scuba diving and snorkelling are possible all along the colourful coral-reefed coast, right on the doorstep of your luxurious accommodation.

The 14 villas are likely to be just as spectacular as their verdant surroundings with the option of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms decked out in utmost luxury. The spacious interiors have been carefully designed to fit in with their dramatic surroundings under the careful watch of designers Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens, renowned for their work on Seychelle’s North Island and Zambia’s Chinzombo resorts, and each one features a large private deck perched directly over the powdery beach sand, with exquisite views over the ocean and to the mainland beyond.

Miavana’s main lodge has been superbly designed to fit into the natural surroundings, and carefully planned to cater to the needs of discerning guests.  A French garden, wine cellar, swimming pool, al fresco dining and bar area, as well as a world-class spa will be featured, along with the unusual ‘Chamber of Curiosities’ which is a treasure trove of artefacts unique to the island, such as cannon balls and lemur skeletons.

Accessible only by helicopter, Miavana promises ultimate seclusion for those in love with nature and promises ample opportunities to unwind among abundant fauna and flora without foregoing absolute indulgence.
